About Us

Independent Living Solutions, Inc (ILS) was established in response to an unfilled need: adult children need support in helping their aging parents find ways to continue living safely and independently. Since 1999, ILS has been offering Geriatric Care Management services to such families in the Boston Metro-north, North Shore, and Southern New Hampshire area. Our fee-based services are privately paid.

Eileen Berman, M.Ed., M.S., ILS founder and president, has been working in the field of Geriatrics and Mental Health since 1980. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, and was awarded a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (with a concentration in Geriatrics) from Boston University. She also received a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Administration from Northeastern University, where she focused on community and residential programming.

Eileen is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.
